June 6~ happy anniversary!

wow! has it really been 11 years since we got married? yes, yes it has!

it was really neat that this year the anniversary landed on a saturday~since we got married on a saturday we did the walk down memory lane. the kids were asking "what were you doing at this time on your wedding day?" and things like that. it was fun to relive it.

i feel very lucky that we've had the kind of marriage we have. shane is a very sweet man. i knew that about him 17 years ago when i first met him in mr. bushong's animal science class at gilbert high school. he was so nice to be around, so comfortable, so unassuming. he was just shane and i loved that about him. i still do actually! he was my friend before he was anything else and maybe that's what has worked all these years. i know that he's always had the utmost respect for me. in 17 years he's never cussed at me or called me any name even in the heat of an arguement. now don't get me wrong, he's not perfect but he's perfect for me and that's more than i could hope for.

we were lucky to have a beautiful wedding with our friends and family there. we had an amazing honeymoon in our favorite place...disneyland! we have been lucky to have the same hopes and dreams and wishes for the future. we have a lot of support around us, good friends and family to listen and be there for us. but most of all we've had each other. even during our dark time when some things would have made some couples call it quits, we stuck together and realized all over again how much we love each other. we don't always agree, we don't always say things the way we should but at the end of the day, there is no man i'd rather be with for the rest of forever.
