March 2013

Wow! I can't believe how far behind I have gotten on this blog! Sad! :( Well, let's pick up from where I left off in December I will give the abbreviated version ;)  We made it through the holidays, New Year, remaining birthdays and Valentine's day without a hitch! We are finishing up our 2 week spring break. We had grand plans to go to Disneyland for a week but it boiled down to vacation or landscaping the backyard. We really wanted a completed backyard so we opted to landscape. We have our Disney trip rescheduled for the kids' fall break in October. That will be an awesome time to go, the park will be all decorated up for Halloween!

We took a nice little trip to Flagstaff over spring break. It was a good 20 degrees cooler and gorgeous! We hiked through the woods, played in the snow on Snow Bowl, went to the Lowell Observatory & ate great food! Other than that trip and some great play dates, we stayed pretty low key this break. Only 9 more weeks of school left! On one hand I am so ready for it to be over and have the kids for summer. On the other hand, it's our last kindergarten graduation celebration, our last year of half day kinder for Alyssa. I'm just not sure my heart is prepared to have all 4 kids gone all day long. Well, ready or not, here it comes :(

I did go through the process to become a certified substitute teacher! I am more excited than I thought I would be. For the remainder of this school year I can cover half days while Alyssa is in school. Starting next year I can cover full days. It should be the perfect fit, I can work when I want to and I know I'll always be off when the kids are on breaks.

The house is coming along wonderfully. I need to snap some more pictures but suffice to say, it looks like we've lived here much longer than we actually have. In a good way! HA HA!  We really love the house and the yard.

The kids are all doing better, improving steadily. All their grades are back up, honor roll, etc. They had some  ups and downs dealing with their loss of Mike but I think their heads are firmly planted back on straight and they are learning to cope. Shane is doing as well as can be expected. He was selected to be the General Manager at work in February. He is doing great so far and it is keeping him very busy.

There is not a whole lot more to tell. I will try to upload some pictures soon. We are hosting for Easter dinner, there will be 20 of us. That should be a lot of fun :)
