Happy Birthday Alyssa M.

it is hard to believe that my alyssa turns 2 today at 8:18 pm. the last 2 years have flown by. literally. i feel like it was just yesterday that we were driving to chandler regional hospital to see if the contractions would keep coming. i remember the kids entertaining me when i was so sick at the end. i had wonderful nurses and of course, dr. villa. sigh, that man is so, talented :-)

i will never forget the kids coming to see alyssa for the first time. cassandra was actually trembling, she was so excited. i am impressed every day at how much love cassandra, savannah and griffin give to alyssa. they mother her, protect her, play with her, antagonize her, love her.

so let's see, what is alyssa doing at age 2? she is learning to pedal her trike consistantly. she loves to dance, loves to play ball. she loves her circus lion and sleeps with him every night. she wakes up most morning singing. usually she sings "yo ho, yo ho, pirates life...ME!" or sometimes she sings a combination of the ABC song/twinkle twinkle little star. her favorite book is "is your mama a llama?" and "sheep in a jeep" which we read multiple times a day. her favorite shows are yo gabba gabba, mickey mouse clubhouse, wow wow wubbzy and max and ruby.

alyssa is 37 inches tall and 30 lbs. she's a good sized girl and she's almost big enough to ride splash mountain at disneyland :-) yes, we measure size by way of what rides you can get on at disneyland.

alyssa knows her animals and sounds they make, shapes, some colors, 7-8 word sentences, probably around 100 words, great memory, i could go on and on about all the smarts she has right now but at the end of the day she is my friend, my baby, my playmate. she is the little light that keeps shining for all of us. she is concerned when you are sad, funny when you are mad, sweet when you need love and cuddly when you need a hug. there are days when i am tired or blue and i look at her big blue eyes and her curly hair and realize that i am so lucky, so blessed every single day to be able to spend my time with her.
