Happy (almost) 4th of July!

Wow, it is hot! I know we say that every year and you think to yourself "hello, you live in Arizona!?"  Amazingly enough, we are supposed to be only in the 90s tomorrow and a chance of rain! I'll believe the rain when I see it ;) We have minimal plans, lounging all day and then headed to my Mom's house for dinner and dessert. The kids are super excited because Gumpy is making homemade ice cream! I admit, I am a little excited too.

We only have 3 weeks left of summer break. This break goes by so fast, too fast. I think this one went by a little faster because I know Alyssa is starting kindergarten. Most of you know how difficult it is for me having the kids go back to school anyway. Knowing that my last little baby is going to kindergarten is really rough. I know she'll do great..she'll undoubtably be the class joker but I will miss her terribly for those 2 hours and 45 min every day.

Cassandra will be in 7th grade (at the jr. high), Savannah will be in 5th grade (at the middle school), Griffin will be in 3rd grade at QCE with Alyssa in kinder. Yes, 4 kids at 3 schools. Who the hell came up with that plan? LOL! Everyone seems pretty excited for their new adventures this year. This is Griffin's first year without his big sisters at the same school with him but now he has a new role as Alyssa's big brother at QCE and I know he won't disappoint. I was just looking at pictures of GRIFFIN'S kinder graduation party and how it felt like yesterday. Now he's a big boy in 3rd grade. Oy, there I go again!

Things are very busy here, gym 3-4 days a week, kids activities, reading, movie night, friends....it's a good kind of busy. Shane is working hard and keeping us all in line (those of you who know Shane are laughing right now) as best he can. We didn't plan any summer vacations this summer as we are moving in August! After many months of realizing that life would be much simpler if we had an easier house to deal with we decided to quit waiting around for the perfect time and just DO IT! We found a lovely spec home being built in a brand new community about 1/2 mile north of our current home. It's a bigger home than what we have now but on a regular lot rather than an acre horse property like we currently are on. Everyone is very excited, they all get their own bedroom, more space..more opportunities to do things as a family. We really feel like it's the best decision. So, we are slowly packing and getting things organized! What to take, what to donate, what to sell. I'm so glad we're not packrats ..... O.o

All that said, I hope you all have a fantastic 4th of July and keep cool...wherever you are!

xo
